Open Universities

I'm going to dedicate this post to Open Universities. Open Universities in this day in age are an international phenomenon. Basically, they were designed after the Open Univeristy located in English that has offered correspondence, and now distance learning to students all over the world. It started as a way for British missionaries and educators to receive quality British educations while living abroad in British colonies. Many universities have opened their own "Open Universities", this is a perfect opportunity for a language student to study in the language and receive some type of qualification (certificate, bachelor's degree, master's degree, or doctorate).

Portugal has the Universidade Aberta. Spain has UNED (Universidad Nacional de educacion a distancia).
